Notebook fn + f1 to switch the display, so why would the letter p?

Notebook fn + f1 to switch the display, so why would the letter p?

I use Dell notebook and Ubuntu 12.04. A few days ago fn+f1 suddenly type
letter p instead of switch display monitor.
Need your help please.
